Restor(y)ing the body
in the frame of the COOK, EAT & CLEAN festival’s series
curated by Linda Samaraweerová

December 14. to 21. 2024
Free entrance

The COOK, EAT & CLEAN festival is running in eindorf for the second time. This time the focus is on restoring and re-storying the body from December 14th to 21st.

The Viennese choreographer Linda Samaraweerová curates the seven-day festival and places the body in various contexts such as ethics, transcendence or art and healing.

“On the one hand, we want to explore how we can restore the body; or bring it back into functioning. On the other hand it is about retelling the body and inventing new stories.”

The contributions to Restor(y)ing the body are just as pluralistic: you can experience works by the choreographers Ondine Cloez from France, Kotomi Nishiwaki from Japan/Spain, Venuri Perera from Sri Lanka and Zwoisy Mears – Clarke from Jamaica and the Russian writer and director Ivan Strelkin.

Central to Samaraweerová is also how we can keep our bodies in balance. The internationally active Indian doctor, philosopher and thinker Dr. Ajit Kulkarni will introduce a basic understanding of health, illness and creativity from a medical homeopathic perspective.

Mezzo-soprano Johanna Zachhuber also focuses on health in her workshop and lecture on music therapy.

In a touching lecture performance, the Indian filmmaker Ujjwal Kanishka Utkarsh deals with the radical vita of the Indian student Rohith Vemula, the body protests!

The Czech coach Larisa Francírková provides insights into the ethical principles of yoga in work and private life and Laurence Morlon introduces a tantric dance ritual.

Contemporary performance artist Valentina Desideri talks about Fake and Political Therapy and how she creates performances based on palmistry.

The field of lectures and performances is framed by a meditative concert by the Czech group Mantrovníci and a laboratory to which 7 international artists Guadalupe Aldrete, Ondine Cloez, Oscar Cueto, Anne Juren, Kevin Fay, Kotomi Nishiwaki and Linda Samaraweerová are invited to explore the interplay between ART and HEALING in more depth.
